Upcycling is turning the waste material into something of higher quality or value than its original form.

The term was first used by William McDonough and Michael Braungart in their book Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things.

Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming by-products, waste materials, useless, or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.
